Diagnosis

Midlobe of mesoscutum with posterior 1/3 with engraved reticulation; mesoscutum and scutellum metallic bluish-green to golden-green; hind tibial spur long, LS/LT = 0.56; petiole long, LP/WP = 1.4. Similar to ticus but dorypher is a smaller species with a longer petiole - both sexes. See also verus.

Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago.

Biology

From Hylaeogena sp. (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) on Phryganocydia sp. (Bignoniaceae) and with same host on an unidentified hairy Bignoniaceae; from Phyllonorycter sp. (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) on Lonchocarpus rugosus (Fabaceae).
